Went through this sort of thing five years ago (co-incidence?) with bulging capacitors on computer motherboards. Only in this case a cap goign would take the chipset with it and possibly the processor. Turned out to be a substandard batch of caps from the far east. One wonders if this batch or more likely batches ended up in more than just computer kit.
