I am looking into other valves that can be used here as these bottles are getting rare.

I thnk that the reason a lot of sets which have a VHF waveband fell into disuse is that in their later life, by which time VHF was well established, users only used them on VHF and when the ECC85 - not noted for longevity - started to fail, the set got pensioned off as beyond economical repair. Certainly by the early 1970s a transistor set could be had for the price of a diagnosis and fitting of a new valve in a valve radio, coupled with the fact that by then, the sets of the 50s and 60s were looking distinctly old-fashioned and unloved.
I saw this set of Joe's when I visited him last week - very nice!
I almost bought it myself at Golborne and was surprised it hung around, as did one or two other nice sets - a 'Toaster' and a Coronation Twin for example.
