Hi David,
Thanks for pointing out Tony's 90v/1.4v psu article in Radio Bygones. I've only recently took out a subscription to the pdf downloadable version of the magazine and was unaware of the contents of any of the earlier issues.
I just happen to have one of the mains transformers you describe (bought from Bardwell's some time ago) lying around waiting to be used and so have downloaded myself a pdf copy of the RB-124 issue and intend to build Tony's excellent project with it in due course.
