I have had another quick look for the origins of our mystery man and in the process found another Judson living during that period at bexley born c 1897 but he was not Russian born he was a Yorkshire man...related...who knows. The printed word in books can be very decieving sometimes, the only credible sources are primary records. When I first started researching our lot everyone said we were Huguenots, our surname as spelt is undoubtedly French, there is even a published reference saying we were Huguenots in a 19th centuary article, but after several years of research I found absolute primary evidence that we weren't at all.
If I lived near London I could probably find more out about our mystery man maybe.
