I have just found a box of reclaimed cores I'd forgotten about. These would have been raided out of scrap radio and tv chassis in the late 60s. Some have slots and some are hex. By far the most common diameter seems to be 5.77 to 5.84mm. Many of them have 2 strips of rubbery? material over the threads. this pushes the diameter to just over 5.9mm (0ba is 6.0mm) The best pitch measurement seems to be 1mm. These figures tie up with 0ba. Unfortunately I don't have any 0ba dies or nuts to see how well they fit.
