You've got me worried about mine now. I'll have a real look what the wiring is like and report. I agree though about accessibility. I had a look in the bottom and there are clearly joints on tag boards which ara a long way down.
I agree about the silicone rubber wire. It comes in two sizes and a multitude of colours. He's a few miles down the road from me. I've got his name etc written down in the garage. I'll look him up.
