PE80s don't look bad to me but have about twice as many valve as necessary which are all potential problems. Are EL41s as prone to leaks as UL41s? They've got two of the blighters.
It's always struck me as a bit odd how Pye put multiple SW bands on their sets in preference to VHF. Did they think the latter was a passing fad?
My P224 has 3 SW bands plus MSW (whatever that may be) but the hum would be likely to drown the signal out.
