I found a couple of 0.2A dial lamps last night and fitted them this morning. They are indeed dim but look nicer than LEDs.
The only other thing to deal with was the missing escutcheon from 'round the wave-switch. I made one out of an old ivorene knife handle which has turned out very nicely. It's not the right shape as I didn't have one to copy and also I was restricted by the ivorene having a hole drilled in it.
