The license plate says "ISSUED BY THE B.T.H CO., EMI, THE GEC, THE GRAMOPHONE CO., THE MARCONI CO., AND PHILIPS" so I don't know if that narrows it down.
I was fooled by the size too.
I had it on earlier and for all that it still has all the sensitivity of a sex-crazed rhinoceros on bad acid it sounds nice and is doing remarkably well given it's half-finished state.
It's looking very nice and I'm hoping to get the speaker cloth properly fitted soon and will then put another photograph up as that will finish the exterior.
I agree that the chances of it being a Graves are virtually non-existent, though I don't positively KNOW it isn't. It would be a nice bit of local interest if it were.
I never knew that company had existed until I heard about Mark doing that set up. It's a bit of local history that seems to have been forgotten.
