Well, it's currently singing to me, surprisingly well considering that one of the smoothers is disconnected.
I've had to bodge it a bit as it needed some caps of a value I didn't have so they've had to be made up.
As per Tony's warning the tag-strip seemed to bare little relation to the picture on the trader sheet. What resistors I could identify were OK so I'm just hoping the rest are.
Getting at the components to change them reminded me of an R600 and removing the tag strip to work on it would have been about as bad as having to disconnect all the switches to get at the Spam can. It's ironic that it is now playing through the R600 speaker so it was perhaps a good thing that I didn't manage to fix that.
It seems a bit 'deaf' as it needs the TV aerial cable screening to pick Absolute Radio up but I'll reserve judgement until the smoother is replaced. If the Westcotter thing is faulty what would the symptoms be.
