For a comment that dates the set to 1946. It appears to use some side-contact valves but possibly at least one octal*, although the photo isn't good and it is difficult to be sure. The annoying thing is that I have a 'picture in my head' of a service sheet (I thought a 'Trader', but can't find one) showing the very set. Knowing my spectacular fialures of memory of late, I suppose I've been dreaming (again). I'd love to confirm or disprove my pet theory that the set first saw the light of day in that cabinet immediately prior to WWII.
*1946 and parts were very scarce! Jamie is quite correct that alternative parts were used, leading to considerable variations from published data - but that also happened pre-war too, without the same excuse.
