Few memorable post war Brit radios?

I'm not old enough to remember the '50s but I would be happy to swap places with someone of my age living through that decade. At least there were enough jobs. There has been high unemployment throughout my working life, despite what you might have read about boom times, yuppies etc. in the papers. I've had a few different jobs over the years but every time I had to compete with too many applicants chasing too few jobs. This is how I ended up self employed, I found it such a soul destroying process trying to get someone to employ me that I did it myself.
