I think that was a sensible and balanced piece. However, you could have mentioned the Marshall Plan. We got the 'Loan', Europe got the money. I do indeed believe that America simply didn't want us back where we had been before 1939, and certainly not before 1914. However, that's all history now.
Back on the subject of Post-War radios I think that we can put a few forward - 39J/H, VHF2D, VHF3D (Monstrosity), PE60(Eccentric) and PE80(Also eccentric). However, I would suggest that our early entry into TV plus the arrival of the transistor had knocked most valve radio manufacture on the head by 1960. Certainly by 1956 we'd virtually abandoned radio at home - wireless to my parents - in favour of TV.
Fortunately there's still plenty about to play with.
