Good morning. As a new member I'm looking at the site for help in my restoration of aMarconi Type M Vigilant ship's auto alarm dating from the late 30s but incorporating units dating back to 1930 (ICW squegging Interruptor test oscillator). The Vigilant is probably the only fully intact example left, Oxford University has a second in its Marconi archive but it is incomplete.
The fixed tuned TRF receiver needed two capacitors replaced but the stumbling block is a Ferranti AF6 interstage transformer. I have completely dismantled it separating the two bobbin windings that look in immaculate condition but are both O.C.
Is there a member willing to undertake the rewind? Auto Alarms were a direct response to the loss of the Titanic keeping watch on 500kHz during Radio Officer's off-watch hours.
