My old friend, now dead, worked for a slot TV firm in the Mottram and Hattersley area east of Stockport. He was the final door knocker when chasing debt or snatching sets back.
He developed lots of tricks for self preservation through necessity. If push came to shove he would throw the set at the renter whilst he made good his escape.
