I'd have said the standard '4V+R' as stated on most service sheets would be the closest equivalent, but AFAIK the usa had so many more manufacturers of all sizes with multiple-valved leviathans that to have a simple set with the same 5 valves (with the odd variation) across many brands might seem more unusual to them and hence worth giving it a name. A 5-valve set in the uk has always been the most common type, hasn't it. 'All Mazda 5' or 'All Mullard 5' might be more descriptive in the uk unless we mean those octal-based late 40's sets that often used the american valve system (which I assume had been made popular by war production).
