I think there is too much variation in basic mains sets, the standard four valve battery set are much more alike (straight off the Mullard reference design) than the mains ones. All British Four AB4? And there were AC/DC/Battery sets, then you will (may, some had selenium rectifiers) have five valves.
I want a PNP valve!
