I think in theory an interlaced LCD panel is possible. I don't think any ever were.
The 1024 x 768 using 43 fps interlace was on some early "beyond" SVGA cards. It was ghastly! Actual SVGA was only 800 x 600 progressive.
The original EGA (640 x 350) and VGA (640 x480) were essentially progressive 60 fps. Some CGA cards did interlaced NTSC composite color.
WS TV, HDTV and Digital were missed opportunities. Partly because the WS was too early. UHD by dropping framerate is madness.
