I used a mechanical calculator in statistics in A level maths.
The first electronic calculator I saw was in the Physics dept at Loughborough where a salesman was doing his spiel.
The second was a Sinclair Executive that someone rich had bought his offspring. It was gold coloured IIRC (after a mere 53 years or so).
