Yes, years ago Sony was good. Now they've given up. TCL will put a Sony badge on some of theirs. TCL always made Alcatel mobiles and make their own panels including QLED (which are LCD, blue backlight and red and green "quantum" dots).
Sony professional gear was their last good stuff.
Belgium and the desire there to receive Dutch, French, Belgium and German TV (and they have loads of languages) spawned Barco Multistandard sets in 1949 which were amazing in late 1970s when I encountered them. Barco seem to predate TV.

I think Panasonic TVs were replaced by a Turkish brand with a Black Diamond Logo. The Irish Management continued to import those, buut branded Walker when Panasonic closed the Dublin Office.
Philips TV & AV are also just labels now on Asian companies. Philips has reverted to pre-1928 – Lamps.
