Maybe chassis from a broken Bakelite set (1940s to 1950s) modded to fit an early 1930s case. Perhaps not even original PSU / mains transformer if it was a USA import.
I've actually got an ex Pye wavechange switch for LW, MW, and shortwaves, complete with all RF & LO coils and trimmers. I was tempted to make something with it. It's a neat module.
I also have a Philips FM tuner head that takes 2 x EF80.
There was certainly a huge motivation in 1940s to early 1960s to assemble a "Franken" radio from such parts. Actually I've too many bits of disassembled, partial or junk radio parts up to including entire chassis, some with cases, from 1928 to 1950s. I've no takers for electronics stuff among the many younger descendants.
