I've never found any reason to move from Thunderbird. It works well enough for me. I don't need a unified inbox but it's meant to be possible. Though possibly with problems: https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbird/com...box_howto/
On my phone I use K9 mail. Again it works well enough and it has a unified inbox.
Not sure what you mean by scaling. If you mean the ability to zoom in and out, then that works just fine in Thunderbird.
