The eight I installed in our kitchen ceiling twenty years ago, are a bit fiddly, they are secured by a spring clip around the edge, but there's a notch in it, so you can use a small screwdriver to hook it out.

 I replaced one a week ago. I've a step stool so they are easy to reach. I'm 85.
