I've dug back in my archives and found some notes on the design I was planning for a client. It never got beyond a prototype and I can't even find much by way of notes showing actual results. The files are dated 1997 but could be earlier as something odd happened then when I transferred everything to a new PC and all files somehow got their timestamp changed.
I think this was the wideband opto I used, back in the days when it was HP: https://www.broadcom.com/products/optoco.../hcpl-4562 I've probably got a few sitting somewhere in a drawer.
Others I considered were the 6N135 and the closely related CNW136 https://www.vishay.com/docs/83604/6n135.pdf but bandwidth would have been very marginal.
