The minimum is a cheap signal generator (or a ham TX on low power with tapped dummy load) and a DMM. If you have a 2nd known good RX with PLL & digital display you can use off air signals, using the "good" RX to know the frequency. Two points on each band at least 1/2 the band apart. Avoid last 5%
of HF end of a band as the tuning cap value can rise slightly as it's fully open.
It shouldn't need re-aligned unless it's been fiddled.
Otherwise if you're passing Limerick. I've looked at one and I owned a later FRG7700 and they aren't stellar. The FRG7 is more a display piece.
I resold the FRG7700 after a couple of weeks as it was poorer than the FT101ZD MkIII and much poorer than the FT817ND.
