It's a long time since I worked on these sets but there was a fair amount of peripheral circuitry around AV input, the model was available as a 21 inch but had a short production run.
Em interesting what you say re isolated supplies, I've seen many instances of opto-couplers used in SMPS, between the output side (isolated) and the input side (non isolated) for voltage stabilisation. They were the isolation component.
