The immersion is a problem here too Rob. The thermostats only last for what seems a year or less. Maybe hard water. So gave up on it and its just for emergencies. We to have gas CH and so water gets heated by that even in the summer. May not cost much more with the cost of elec / gas. Also you dont get to winter and find the CH isnt working !!

Bosch maybe more pricey but we have had good relaibilty from them: washer, dishwasher and microwave. For me thats worth the extra cost as I dont want to keep fixing domestic stuff.
