I recall shedloads of mercury wetted reed relays in Fairchild 4000 semiconductor automatic test equipment.
This sort of thing, though much modified for nA leakage testing and sans the dynamic test part:

IIRC they were still used until 1985 or 1986 after which a modern LTX tester was installed.
