Analogue
My composite (or Y/C) and stereo analogue capture to USB arrived today, and as I expected it works on Pi via VLC -> Capture -> video camera . Quality seems OK. It has a short A plug to A cable included. Not checked the audio.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0776QZKPP/ £12.29
No drivers were needed. Running Ubuntu ARM64 on a Pi4b, but no reason that VLC won't do the the same on Rasparian OS on a Pi 5.
DIgital
The HDMI to USB 3.0 (A with C adaptor) capture also came, which lets me (via DVI->HDMI-socket plug) put the 800 x 480 digital video of the HF radio in a window via VLC. This means radio can be seen over LAN/Internet and it's combo usb Audio & Cat control too. Tested first on VLC on Linux Mint Workstation (which has 23″ 4K HDR screen). No drivers added.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0C1Z28WQP/ £9.21
I tried it on the Pi too (after closing VLC). Works.
The spectrum display isn't great!
(Screenshot on Workstation, but Pi looks the same)
The setbox SD RTE News Now looks better. (also on PI) Also an HD channel is fine on Pi in a VLC window.
You can of course use VLC (or other apps) to stream the capture devices (both look like cameras with sound) from another PC to VLC on a Pi.
I also bought 3 rolls amalgamating tape, which I couldn't find locally, thus having more than £25 for "free" Shipping. Oddly from Enniskillen and not China.
Edit An analogue capture of HD via SD on SCART
