I've established that the common 4 pole mic/headphone splitter (€2 locally) has the common on ring 2. Thus a BNC-3.5mm jack (cheap adaptor for radios that use 3.5mm jack for external aerial) works in mic socket for video. That also will be handy to scope with a T-piece at the 'scope. So I can run the default and compare with any revised setting. I doubt either of the two 6" mono TVs or the 2" one has video in. I do have a composite to HDMI adaptor somewhere that I've not tested and maybe one of the big HD screens has composite in on RCA connector, or even a 4 pole jack!
I've used 3x resistor DACs on an FPGA to give 640 x480 VGA.
The DAC08 is only for replacement / repair. It's ancient and the 85ns to 100ns settling time may be be a bit misleading though suggests 10MHz?
Edit: Applications suggest for 1uS conversions and loads of stuff excluding video.
