Hi,
Thanks Ed; yes the VFD instructions show the circuit part which needs to be shielded but I didn't understand it so made all the mistakes first; now I understand a great deal more about using shielded signal cables. Learning from scratch always takes a lot of time.
Many thanks Mark for your kindness; it's a huge relief now Bron's Parkinson's medication is working allowing her to forget she has Parkinson's disease; the benefit of modern drugs. Bron was told she would be taking three tablets daily but later it would be increased to six tablets daily; we didn't think the tablets were working until she started the higher dosage then they suddenly kicked in.
Last Sunday I enjoyed a violin practice in the morning but after dinner the rain having finally stopped I was at the top of the oak tree securing heavy ropes; I climbed up twice but at 3:45pm it quickly became too dark and cold to carry on regarding safety; since Sunday we've had huge amounts of rain; it's poured down for over 36 hours but this morning it's finally let up at least for now and it feels colder. If it remains fine I want to add a third rope for pulling then hope to fell the oak; I want it down before it's full of leaves which add a lot of extra weight. All being well I'll post the details.
Here's the oak tree I'm about to remove.
Bron's looked after me for 47 years of marriage now it's my turn to look after her; I'm enjoying baking; the above is the second apple pie I've made; the first was a success but this one with experience is about as good as an apply pie gets; I'm now using 100% whole wheat flour and again used Bramley apples. The first pie I struggled with the pastry; I'd dusted the work surface with flour before rolling out but iit still suck in places; getting flour all over I thought there must be a better way so I tried rolling this second pastry out onto non stick baking paper; it worked a treat and the paper supported the pastry whilst lifting; there's usually a better solution if looked for.
Bron has to take her tablets 30 minutes before food so time now for breakfast.
Kind regards, Colin.

Happiness is a wreck of a cabinet to restore.
