Recording video in the 1950s

I few years ago I spent a great deal of time attempting to record NBTV onto Edison wax cylinders. Not very successful as you can see but it
passed the time :-)
I called my machine. 'The Edikow,' in memory of
both Edison and Paul Nipkow of mechanical TV fame.

Unbelievable. I have a Dictaphone from the 1920s. I mechanically brought him back to life. The membrane and stylus are in good condition. The biggest problem is the wax cylinders. The passage of time has caused cracks. Increased temperature may smooth the surface slightly, but may also change the properties of the wax. This is a slow moving project. I planned to record audio.
