The cabinet is similar but much darker, steel work is similar to many Pilot sets about this period. Component wise its nothing like.

Obviously the Irish model in the same case is more similar to the Pilot 85 series in circuit and electronics parts (Pilot Model T854 and T85M), though using a similar basic chassis to your Blue Peter, punched out differently.

The cabinet may have been finished in Dublin and using a different base toner to account for it being darker.

Still it's interesting how the same cabinet and similar chassis metalwork was reused later for a different market.

It's crazy that the original "budget" Bakelite sets are now more highly prized than the woodies. Who knows in another 50 - 75 years!
