Really strange line-up! Why not use the 'obvious' 6K7 as IF amplifier rather than the 7H7? thus becoming all-octal? (Unless Pilot had a shedload of 7H7's that they needed to use...)
A choke-input filter after the rectifier is very unusual. But it does give the rectifier, smoothing capacitor and mains transformer an easier time.
