Laws in a democracy protect the weak or poor from the rich or powerful. We have 30km ph limits instead of 50 (30 mph) in many housing estates and similar because a child (or adult) hit at that speed is very more likely to survive. There is a problem in some places with inconsistent speed limits or too frequent changes (80-60-50), that's being reviewed.
Rules on a forum protect people from abuse, inappropriate content and bullies as well as protecting the owner from fines, lawsuits or being shut down. Some forums are too strict (but not many I've encountered. The few with almost no moderation are nearly unusable. Most actual general Social Media is a cess pit and X (formerly Twitter) is now facing fines and bans for lack of moderation.
Anarchy or lack of rules is less free speech and less freedom for many people, who can become victims. Musk's concept of free speech is people that agree with his world view.
