They look similar to those used on radiograms and some radio's as Ed says, failing that you could use a different bank of ganged SW's but locating them might be tricky and screw up the originality but your onto a real loser if you try and repair them I think. I've tried to repair similar SW's with zero success, springs leap into space never to be seen again, though that can be solved by opening them inside a plaggy bag & they're very fiddly. In which case see if you can find a scrap Bush or radiogram and then swop the whole SW bank.

Hi.
The Radio gram ones are deeper as they have more contacts.
I also agree with Andy as they are a pig to fix, basically it's scrap. Even if you got it apart the chances of repair and reassembly is virtually nil.

Why not take up Golf Rob?

Soldering back the switch resistor sorted out the loss of the effects (hooray), breaking the switch created a new problem (doh!). I didn't realise how old and fragile this material had become
I'm looking at taking off the outer paxolin cover to that switch and making a replacement. I will also see how the locking part of the switch is held on the inside. What I can see already is that with the base part of the cover gone, the locking part of the switch has dropped by a few mm's so that appears to be why it won't lock now. I can only try my best at this stage being more mechanics than purely electrical.

I used to try golf but my severe back pain causes to much issues. I still want to study electronics as much as I can but still somewhat busy work wise.

Golf? I was going to suggest bear wrestling instead of switch fettling, Strip naked, cover oneself in peanut butter and tie a 3 day old salmon to ones head then run round the woods of Maine. It's less frustrating and one looses weight too.

Hope you get it fixed, as you say you can only give it a go. BTW, I looked in my stash and couldn't find anything. I did have a similar SW bank off a Blaupunkt radiogram but must have chucked it.

Hi.
If its your own item then all well and good.
When doing this for a living and repairing other people's goods you have to be very careful you don't damage the item you are repairing.
Even now doing this as a hobby I work as if the item is a customers. This way you take more care and less likely to make mistakes.
I've said before, take time and evaluate the problem, work on a tidy bench with sufficient room and if you don't understand what you are doing then stop, ask for help or pass the job to someone that does.
