Nothing wrong found with the MOSFETS after all and now fully working - very loud indeed.

So enlighten us please as to where you went wrong?

I do believe in hindsight that I didn't necessarily connect all three Mosfet connectors together to remove the internal static, hence, why the test results that I had were not correct. The chap that repaired this for me indicated that there was a small issue with the pre amp stage too. I do have to say that this type of amp is out of my capability to do any testing or repair on the circuit board so I am not going to take one on again.

Its a very clean but warm sounding amplifier which does appear a bit unusual for solid state so i can understand we they are very popular.
