Trigon EL34 Valves

Does anyone know about Trigon valves at all? From the limited knowledge I know i do believe they were another company like Zaerix, who didn't make valves but sold valves made for them with their name printed on the valves?

The valves have the numbers H8WF8 printed on the glass to which I have no idea who the manufacturer was at all? From reviews that I seen on the internet could they have possible been manufactured by RFT (East German from the 1970s)??

Hi Bob.
Most old Comecon produced valves will be good. I've some Tesla's made in Czechoslovakia that are equally as good as Mullards. Svetlana from the old USSR were at one time alleged to be made on redundant Mullard equipment. So if you can confirm the Trigon are Eastern European manufacture I'd say that they would be OK.

I had some experience of Svetlana 6L6GT valves, they are very good. Matching up pairs was easy, they were all very close to start with so quality control must have been good.

Hi.
H8WF8 may be a manufacturer code for matching or just a code for date of manufacture etc.
Probably irrelevant for your purposes.

My thoughts are that they were manufactured around the 1970s. I have some Ei ECC 83 valves that I bought many years ago and they are absolutely superb.

Looking at the dimples on the top of these EL34s I would say that they are RFT and a quality product.

Interesting re the dimples.
I sometimes think this is a little bit of Audiofoolery!
The band guys with (Tuned) Marshall amps running high HT always complained about the valves with dimples on the top as they were a weak point, would crack or suck in. Take mind these valves were running way out of spec and had a limited life of perhaps a dozen four hour gigs!!
