I've got the schematic of the Pineapple as a paper copy. It's not on my PC as far as I can see. I have 3 versions. One is a couple of slightly scrappy hand drawn sheets. I can also see that made an attempt to redraft it in Orcad. Another copy is decently drafted. At the time (1992) I was asked to keep the information confidential but I can't see that it would do any harm now to give it to anyone who needed it. It may well have been given to everyone who bought a converter at the time.

I also have a lot of other info on the various converters. In principle most of this is also confidential but if somebody needs it to maintain an obsolete converter I can't see any harm in sharing it. I might approach Dave Grant (Dinosaur) and Malcolm Everiss(Domino) to see if they are willing to put their designs in the public domain.

I forgot to mention one of my 405 TVs. The Philips 563A that I bought at RWB last month will be arriving on Saturday, courtesy of Jeremy Owen (Pamphonica) who kindly offered to bid on my behalf and has been looking after it for me in the meantime.

Hi Jeffrey,

I think Steve was only looking for 405 line sets that are currently in the condition that you can sit down and watch. Is the 563A in that condition?

Don't forget those not on forums or those that only occasionally look in.
These come to mind that have working 405 line sets.
Steven Patrick, Dollar. PYE D18, PYE VT4, Ultra model unknown with Aurora and DVD player.
Alex McLaren, Dunfermiline. Half a dozen sets with aurora.
Duncan Leece Turriff one 405 line Murphy I know about.
Another collector who I've forgotten his name, stayed in Logie Coldstone Aberdeenshire, had a massive collection including a pre war set, last I saw him was 2003, was also a BVWS member.
There has to be many others.

Only because although I own the set I haven't yet seen it or taken posession of it. Actually I probably have seen it a few years ago at the late Brian Cuff's house but didn't take any particular notice.

I've just emailed Darryl to get an authoritative update on Aurora availability and also asked about the total suppplied to date.

Even allowing for a presumed small minority of use with 2 or more Auroras there's still a good few hundred enthusaists in the UK who one can reasonably assume to have at least one 405 line set each.

Darryl has replied to me.

He has sold over 800 Auroras. The vast majority are SCRF405A. He sold a single SCRF819 version last year.

He made a batch of 30 last year and has sold about 6 of them so far. Sales are now quite slow so the market must be close to saturation. Despite what it says on the Crowthorne website at the moment Darryl has either got sufficient stock of the obsolete chips and/or they are still reasonably available.
