Hello from Bulgaria

Hello

I try to restore Vintage Murphy A30C Radio.
Can you offer me where to find original speaker for him?

The original speaker is an energised one, the coil is the smoothing choke for the HT supply.

You may be very lucky to find one but it is unlikely. Post a parts wanted request on the forum giving the size, a picture and the set model number and see if your luck is in.

What is wrong with the speaker? Energising coil can be rewound, damaged cones can be repaired to a degree or even changed for a cone from another speaker with care.

Otherwise arrange a separate smoothing choke ( or even a resistor may do ), or use the energising coil if it is OK, and then use a permanent magnet speaker. You may have to make different mounting arrangements for it.

Well, who's showing off then?
Ah, yes welcome to the forum from me too. Sorry forgot my manners.
I will not respond in the same vein, prefer to trust the OPs excellent English.

The problem is that the speaker is totally missing. I bought it without speaker. Not a problem to put some other model, but I hold to be exactly original.

Thank you for the warm reception. ...Boater sam

Hello Stoi

Bulgarian stuff was always preferred in Cuba above Soviet one. In my house we have a Bulgarian water pump which has been working since 1985, and it keeps working nowadays.
