I'm Dick, retired now & live in Co Durham.
First "got the bug" as they say when my dad (also called Dick) built our first TV, inspired by the Practical TV articles in 1952 initially in a Dexion frame & later in a wood cabinet
I still have this vivid memory of the TV providing one channel & what I imagine must have been the "Third Program" the second channel for experimental stereo broadcasting (sound) I seem to remember that it was not deemed to be of interest to dad after listening a couple of times
Anybody remember this sort of thing ?
Now retired after some time in the Army & a career as an electrician of varying degrees (Radio & TV/commercial/heavy plant/security/domestic)
Main interests now are musical, valve amps (low power) build in & modding, guitars & effects........most things with wires in fact
I've inherited a "Westminster" (Curry's I presume) record player that needs some attention so that will be my first thread I would expect
Always happy to help if I can
Cheers
Dick.
