September is here and so Harpenden can't be far away. Sunday 27th to be precise.

As usual we will have a bring and buy stall to raise funds for the Vintage Wireless Museum. We take items for sale either on commission or as donations.

Commission sales: 10% of sale price goes to the Museum, you get the rest

Donations: 100% of the sale price goes to the Museum.

We have always been delighted at how generous everyone has been. The Museum is very grateful.

Sitting in my pile of stuff for donation at the moment there's a Ferrograph Series 6, a Hacker Herald RP35 and a Cossor 464 bakelite set. Plus various odds and sods. All from generous folk who want to help the Museum and see their unwanted bits got to a good home.

There will be a special exhibit at Harpenden, a Philips LDK5 colour TV camera, fully working. Brought along by Brian Summers (aka Beamcurrent in various forums). You may remember he demonstrated a much earlier camera last year. The LDK5 is hardly new, it was introduced c1978 and was especially great for outside broadcasts. The secret? It was the first camera to use Tri-ax camera cable instead of multicore monstrous stuff.

I hope you have plenty of room on the B&B stall Jeffrey.  I shall need a wheel barrow  to get it all from the car.  All 100% for the Museum.

This is a FREE BVWS service to everyone and therefore it is made available when ready.

The auction has a number of interesting and unusual items as well as a lot of Valves and some very early Valves.

Well done on your efforts Jeffrey - everyone works so hard to put these events on and to run them.

I've only been to one Harpy and can really only attend if en route to/from somewhere else as otherwise, it's a 400 mile round trip.

I was amazed at how well organised and friendly it was, and Chairman Mike worked his socks off as auctioneer. He certainly has an apt surname for that role! 

 So come on then Gary - out with it - did you go hope empty handed?
