I'm back

[spot-wobble]

Hi Folk,

I used to be a member here but gradually dropped off posting here as I was more active elsewhere.
Hoping to find refuge here amongst friendly souls.

I'm currently in France (returning at the weekend) but will be moving with my wife permanently to the Perigord (noir) region of France.
We bought a plot of land there this year and plan to build a straw bale house on the plot in a year or so.

Welcome back Andy.
Only just rejoined myself!
I'n envious of your Perigordain adventure. Lovely area.
regards
Jeremy

A few weeks ago Andy and his wife Lusha stayed overnight with me on their way to France. I learned a lot about their adventure and it all sounds great. Straw bale houses are not comonplace in the UK and exceeding rare in France.

Good to see you both here Jeffrey and Jeremy.

Welcome to the forum Andy (or rather 'welcome back'!).

Don't remember your forum name 'spot-wobble' - did you originally go under another 'handle'?

Good luck with your French 'adventure' - our elder son is married to a French girl and we have three Anglo-French granddaughters. Our son and his wife lived in Paris for many years until they moved to the UK 14 years ago. They had a second home in Provence (near Apt) for several years until they sold it recently, and we've spent many happy times there.

Hi Andy.
Great to read your back with us once again. It's a pity I've not been able to see you but if you're ever near us please drop by.
Unfortunately circumstances have been difficult for me to arrange the collection of the projection tv sets. I'm still around though if it's not too late.
I'm really envious of your move and I'm sure you will have a wonderful future, all the very best to you both.

David,

previous avatar was possibly G8MNM my current call sign.

Trevor,

We are still around until late August, could still meet you near Glasgow for TV drop off if you want?
I really don't want to take them to France and don't know what else to do with them within our timescale.

Best regards to you both

Andy (currently stuck for what could be hours at the Eutotunnel in Calais whilst trucks are searched for illegal immigrants. The difference between car and freight crossings!!

Ah yes - I think we may have met at the NVCF in 2012 or maybe 2013?

A couple of pics here might jog a few memories!

Sorry about the poor quality of the first pic - 2012, but left to right: Steve P, Alan Beckett, Paul Taylor's son, Paul Taylor,(AKA 'Tedzed1' or more affectionately, 'Fred the Fiddler!).
Then Brian C (?), Kevin Hoyland, Robert Vine, ('AKA 'Bush-Baby'), me, and I may be mistaken, but is that you Andy on the right when you were known on here as G8NMN?

Second pic, (2013) left to right:

Me, Gary Tempest ('Radio Fixer' on here), then in the middle - Andy again? Then Alan Beckett, and Paul Taylor.

Happy days!

Yep, that's Andy in the middle of the 2nd picture and the far right in the 1st. can't see Brian Cuff in either picture. Unless you mean a different Brian C.

Andy has also helped out on the NVCF Bring and Buy a few times. We were a bit understaffed and overworked this year so I grabbed him even though he wasn't expecting it.

Thanks Jeffrey - I wonder who the gent is in the hat and light coloured 'T' shirt is between Kevin and Paul Taylor in the first pic?
