Ideal for the rivets and switch contacts for repairing dodgy wave-change switches on old radios, some of which seem quite susceptible to failure - to be expected I guess, on the grounds of age.

Yes it will be interesting, I guess for the repairer or restorer there has to be a reasonable ceiling price to make it worth while, however it's the first time I have seen one of those on Ebay hence the post.
Makaswitch was all the rage when I was last into homebrew stuff, I think some manufactures still supply the seperates.
Hi Gents, we had a Plessey version of this unit when I was a junior engineer at Reyrolle and it was extremely useful. I have some of the parts, but the difficult bit is the eyelet closing pliers for the approx. 2.4 mm hollow eyelets. I've never seen any advertised that were that small.
There was an A.B. Metal Products Ltd who made electrical components, the address (google books) is given as 17 Stratton Street, W1 (London)
On the Ebay listing for the switch kit there is a picture of a technical drawing near the bottom of the listing, the full name of the company isn't shown only the last bit ie: ?????AL PRODUCTS LTD and Stratton Street W1 is shown as the address.
Prior to their offices being at Stratton Street,W1 they were at Berkeley Street W1, a return on a google books search shows that they made a switch kit housed in a wooden box circa 1953/4.
I reckon that's them.
