You could re-do yours in Malachite Green and Sunshine Yellow, Dennis.

Or change the existing colours slightly to a 'golden yellow oche' and put 'LB & SCR' on it.

I've just taken the dial out of mine, and have attached the scan. (The actual dial is approx 12.8cms x 6.8 cms). I must say that these dials are attractive and were very well made. None of the usual flaky white lettering which affflicts many sets - Marconis in particular from my experience. This dial is gold (though it might not look it from the pic), with read and black lettering, and coated with brown paint or a plastic coating on the reverse. Initally I'd thought that the patch at the top centre between the words 'Little' and 'Maestro' was a piece that had flaked off, but then I realised that it was a silhouette of a 'little meastro' with a conductors' baton.

I guess that rather than make a water-slide transfer ('decal') the dial could be printed on photograph paper with the 'window' carefully cut out with a craft knife, then sandwiched between two thin pieces of glass.

Hope that helps Dennis - best of luck with the restoration. Nice little sets - worth the trouble I think.

David, thank you so very much for that.

I've started 'reconstructing' mine as a scan and would like to finish this as I've never done one before. I've a lot of pattern recognition stuff left over from when I was working and will put these into macros for Adobe CS5 which should construct the missing data with minimal effort. I do have to scan the remains of my dial at 1200 dpi minimum to make the algorithms work.

I'm (sort of) pleased I didn't keep the valves and bin the rest as originally intended.

David, he looks a bit like the 'Mannekin-Pis' in Brussels. Are you sure that's a baton he's holding ?
