Not unless you want a very hot mains transformer!

For bridge rectifier ccts, I always think of choosing the reservoir cap. on the basis of at least 2,000 µF per amp., plain-foil construction and generously-rated in terms of working voltage.

The unregulated voltage dropping on load is a good thing as it means the regulators have less to do and don't get as hot.

The voltage range is 1.2V to 18V and the current limit 25mA to 1A.
