My xmas but not really

I have been saving up for ages in the hope of buying a good example of the Collins 390A, the 390A seems to elude me so I have got this instead, Racal RA117 also a Racal ISB adaptor unit. I need to go over it carefully.

There's a strong tinge of green round Burton on Trent.
Mind you, compared with a whole roof I expect it's not that much, although I've never found that argument carried much weight with the other half.

Hello Alan, by the time I have finished the roof it will have cost approx £3,000/£3,300 all the work was done by myself without pay of course, the deal was I will keep your head dry dear but I have the Racal. If I ever want to buy that Collins I will probably have to build her an extention to the house (for me to move into that is)
The Racal is working but needs a proper check, as you will know it's not a quick job.

Burton on Trent eh, some of my distant ancestors were coopers there at the brewery.

Ok, bit of a long shot, anyone know what the name of the 12 way output connector is on the Racal RA218 Independant Sideband Adaptor and where I might obtain one?

Hmmm.
If I've counted right it's a 12 way Plessey. The snag is that they come in all sorts of confugurations and orientations. That was to stop the Squaddies joining the wrong things up. In my younger days it was the proverbial nightmare.
To get it off the ground you're probably better disconecting the wires and using something else, just to see what works. I don't think I've got one that big but I'll look.

Thanks Alan, I have been googling images and it might be a type 104, you are correct about the number of different types! I need one so I can select and feed either sideband to a seperate audio stage as the front panel outputs are for 'phones only ( 10 mw into 600 ohms) So far as I can ascertain from the circuit diagram the 'phone outputs are not switchable, I will try and post a diagram for anyone that might be interested.
