Decca 66

Hi all, currently working on a Decca 66 valve radio, and all is fine apart from no SW, all other wavebands work, including FM, but in SW position, totally silent, not even a crackle from the set when you insert a piece of wire into the aerial socket.

any help appreciated on this, have cleaned the wavechange switch to no avail, and I am working slightly blind on this, as my R & TVS books do not cover this model, has anyone the correct schematic.

(it is not the early schematic for the early decca 55 and 66, it is this model.)

OK, have now obtained the Decca service notes, I think next point of call is the SW Osc Coil, L15 and L16, any further advice as
what to check?

Short wave is higher in frequency, so components which are OK on Long and Medium may not be quite up to it on Short Wave.

Clean the valve socket and pins and try a new valve (ECH81). Does the IF get out on Short Wave?

You can do a brief check of L17 and L20 using an AVO. Also check C26, C36, C33.
