Is this a Pye model MP - or not?

Acquired yesterday - a Pye wooden-cased wireless, circa. 1940. My researches indicate that it could be a Pye model MP - but it doesn't quite fit the pictures that I've found of such a wireless. Below are some photos of a model MP, but mine looks different; mine has: (1) the tuning scale at the top of the cabinet, (2) the control knobs just below this scale, (3) the speaker (and its fret) at the bottom of the cabinet, and the fret is square, not rectangular. Apart from that, the chassis looks identical, although the valve line-up appears incorrect. An MP has ECH3, EF9, EBL1 and AZ1. Mine is the same, except that for the ECH3, an ECH35 is fitted, with a valve socket change to suit.

           

Unfortunately, I am unable to take photos of what I actually have here at the moment - camera is not available - but hopefully what I have written above is adequate to explain what I have and to supplement my question: is this a Pye MP - or a variant of such a beast - or something completely different?

it is possible that it is from the MP series, they all seem to be covered by Trader sheet 737. However trader 495 gives some useful information on the valve changes.

I wonder if it was originally the MP/RG with a turntable underneath. That is on 495.

ECH3 = ECH35, just base is different.

Don't think so.
The Octal version of ECH3 should be ECH33, although as far as I can tell the characteristics of ECH35 are the same.
ECH3 is fairly readily available. I have a couple if you want to put it back.

Thank you for that generous offer, Alan. However if I do that - and indeed I would like to do that - I will need to fit an appropriate side-contact valve socket - and I don't have one. Do you?
