I'd be interested to know how long these valves last as the filaments look frighteningly bright. The butterfly-like wireless is also interesting in its own right.

It was interesting to look at a completed valve here in my workshop as the build process was being being shown.
Back in the mid 70's I was offered a job as a Technician at a valve company in London (can't remember which one - maybe Mullard?). I didn't take it as I lived in the Midlands and didn't in the end want to move to London. I just wonder what it would have been like then. I remember at the interview the folk were really impressed with my love of valves. By then transistors were well established so I don't know how long the job would have lasted?
